Overview
Berger’s 180-grain Elite Hunter is an elongated, boat-tail projectile for .30-calibre rifles. Its hybrid ogive combines a forgiving tangent section at the bearing surface with a long secant nose, achieving an impressive G1 BC of 0.576 (G7 BC 0.295) while still seating easily at magazine length. A thin J4 Hunting Jacket provides match-grade concentricity and initiates controlled expansion after roughly 5–7 cm of penetration. The bullet stabilises fully in 1-in-12″ twist barrels or faster and retains killing power well past 800 m thanks to its high retained velocity and energy.
